WESTVIEW IS IN THE NEWS AGAIN!
We
at Westview Farms were pleased to recently find ourselves "in print".
Westview Farms Perennials & Herbs is featured in a new book entitled
In Search of Great Plants - The Insider's Guide to the Best Plants
in the Midwest by lecturer and garden writer Betty Earl.
We met Ms. Earl, who is a Garden Scout and Field Editor for Better
Homes and Gardens magazine last year when she heard about Westview
Farms Perennials & Herbs and decided to visit us during her five
state quest to locate "the best nurseries" and "the best plants"
in the Midwest. We are very gratified and honored that she chose
us as one of only twenty Michigan nurseries and garden centers selected
for inclusion in her book.
To quote one review: "In Search of Great Plants is the definitive
resource directory for where the best plants are found in the Midwest.
This carefully researched book informs readers about the best places
to find plants for the average gardener and the gardener in search
of something special. Includes nurseries that are "hidden gems"
. . . the type of nurseries that gardeners love to know about and
share."
Ms. Earl states in her introduction that "The intention of this
book is to offer you honest, informative and useful facts toward
finding exemplary regional sources for whatever garden plants you
are searching for . . . I love nurseries that seek out the unusual,
strut the interesting, and embrace both the classic and the "newbie"
ornamental plants with the same zestful passion."
In
Search of Great Plants - The Insider's Guide to the Best Plants
in the Midwest by Betty Earl is 312 pages, published by Cool
Springs Press, ISBN 1591860946. It is available at Amazon.com, Barnes
and Noble and local area bookstores.
